John D. Reed, in the Ancestry World Tree compilation "Reed's of Southern Indiana" (last updated 8 Sep 2001), states that Emeretta married John William Jacobs before each of them went on to marry again. This seems highly unlikely and I have assumed that it resulted from a confusion among the Bennett sisters rather than a divorce followed by a marriage of Jacobs to his ex-wife's sister.
