RECENT DEATHS - MRS. ALVIN BENNETT
Tobitha (Lowary) Bennett was born in Coshocton County, Ohio, April 16 1841, and died August 15, 1898 at 5 p.m. near Chatten, Ill [now Golden, IL].
She came with her parents to Illinois in 1850, she was married to John W. Swain, May 25, 1865, who died September 28, 1865. She was married again June 17, 1876 to Alvin Bennett. She united with the M.E. Church twenty-two years ago and lived a life of true christian virtue, loyal to God and the church and true to all relations as wife, mother and neighbor. She leaves to mourn her loss a husband, four children - one daughter and three sons, four sisters and two brothers and a large number of relatives and friends. Her funderal was preached by Rev. A. B. Peck, after which her remains were laid to rest in Ebenezer cemetery.
