Last rites were held Monday at 2 p.m. in the Chapel
of the Chimes, Inglewood Park Cemetery, for Mrs. Mary (Mamie) Singleton Bennett,
79. The Rev. Merle Clark of the First Methodist Church officiated and the Robert
L. Jones Funeral Home was in charge of the services.
Mrs.
Bennett, a native of Kansas, lived at 407 Broadway. She passed away in Porterville
on December 17. Mrs. Bennett had lived in the state of California for 53 years
and came to Wasco almost 20 years ago. She was active in the Methodist Church
here before her illness.
Her survivors include her husband,
Howard T. Bennett of Wasco; a son, Norman B. McLeod of Hollywood; and a sister,
Mrs. Florence Reilly of Huntington Park.
